What are expected from me as a cafe attendant?

TIME FOR DUTY. Come on or before your time of duty.

CLEANLINESS AND SAFETY.
Maintain and ensure the cleanliness (dust off, litter free, stain free) and safety (no obstacle on the isle, no clutter, unstable furniture, open wire, broken glass, loose appliances, etc) in the vicinity of the café including the façade (front establishment) and bathroom.

CHECKING THE WORKABILITY OF THE FACILITIES. Check the functionality of each computer unit and all other appliances. Check the usability of the bathroom. Condemn the unit or bathroom by putting a notice/sign and inform right away the Deputy CEO.

CONSERVATION.
Conserve energy and resources. Follow instructions on the proper time and setting of the air conditioners.

FULL AWARENESS.
Be cognizant (be aware) of the doing of all people (both clients and spectators) in the café. If necessary, call the attention of the person who is doing out of the normal manner. Keep eyes to corners that may be obscured. Doors leading to the kitchen, bathroom first compartment and second compartment must be locked at all times.

BATHROOM USAGE.
Monitor the usage of the bathroom and no one should use it without permission to using and asking for the key. The bathroom has two compartments, which require key access to both. The second compartment should not be made available unless the client foretells this before using. Only clients not spectators can use the facilities.

PROTECTING PROPERTIES & ESTABLISHMENT.
Protect the properties and establishment from vandalism, defacement, defamatory act and alike. Report related incidents immediately to proper authorities and the CEO or Deputy.

LOG BOOK.
Maintain a log in a record book of the number of people coming in the café every hour regardless of the purpose (e.g. actually using the client computer, doing inquiries etc.) This will be log using a record book. Any concerns, inquiries and observations must also be noted in this record book.

FINANCIAL RECORD BOOK.
Log all payment entries in a financial record book. This recorded book is exclusive only for financial transactions occurring per day, per computer. On a page of this record book, indicate the date, provide a column for each computer numbered from one (1) to xx, and every time a transaction is completed, record the amount on this page, in the column of the computer in which the user is expected to avail of or have availed of. Every "single" transaction should be indicated with time and the "name" of the desk attendant.

Basic Computer and Office Skills.
Learn, explore and apply basic Microsoft Office and Microsoft Operating System. When needed, create templates, formats, and reports from existing software.

Learning other computer programs.
Learn and explore other computer programs, as clients may ask for assistance. Maintain good knowledge about the program.Daily Reports (online). Fifteen (15) minutes before signing off from duty, the employee shall prepare following:
  • Daily Report indicating the highest and lowest number of clients in a period and the day end revenue.
  • Daily Frequency Report indicating the approximate number of clients per period.
  • Clients' inquiries, concerns, complaints, and recommendations (like programs, equipment needed etc) Important incident report, observations, and etc. if any (need help with any)

HANDY CAFÉ SOFTWARE. Learn the functions of the handy café software. Create profile for oneself. Disclose your account name and password to the Deputy.

Clients.
Welcome and great the clients upon entering. Extend help, facilitate request from clients, if needed.

Exchanging Loose Computer Peripherals.
When a client wants to use a loose computer peripheral (examples: game controller, card reader and etc.) exchange a Photo ID of the client for any loose equipment. This exchange should be logged in the logbook/ record book with the item and name of the person. A School Buzz Internet Café Membership ID may be used if available. Return the Photo ID upon the return of the item borrowed. Each borrowed has an added rental fee.

Creating Membership Photo ID and profile. Learn the program and create membership Photo ID and profile for clients.

Open Communication. Maintain an open communication with the CEO and Deputy CEO for any concerns no matter how small, especially if directly related to the School Buzz Internet Café and the function as the employee.

Keys and key holders. There must be a separate key holder for the bathroom (i) first compartment, bathroom (ii) second compartment, (iii) key holder for the front doors, back door and auxiliary door (the door to the kitchen). All keys in their key holder must remain in the establishment and secured.

Memoranda. Developments and improvements may be extended to the employee in a form of memoranda by electronic correspondence or written notice. These must be remembered and strictly followed.
